PH came back from Japan and told me that he bought a few packets of expensive instant noodle. I wondered what was so special about it. Then, he strongly recommended Ichiran Ramen to me and told me that he bought the expensive ramen from an Ichiran restaurant. The restaurants were opened 24/7.
There were two Ichiran Ramen restaurants at Dotonbori. I went to both, on different days

Ichiran in an alley. I went to this restaurant first |

Additional Chashu for ¥250 |
This was heaven. Thick broth full of flavour. Slightly savory with natural sweetness. I would rate it a perfect dish of 10/10. ¥890 + additional Chashu ¥250 |
Packaged Ichiran ramen is sold at the restaurant entrance. It was more expensive than those sold at Don Quijote, due to the sales tax (¥1,852 x 100.08% = ¥2,000) |
Ichiran restaurant by Dotonbori River |
Yoshinoya is one of the top gyudon (beef bowl) chain restaurants |
Gyudon. Tender and sweet, very similar to Taiwanese Lu Rou Fan. 9/10. ¥480 |
A Yakisoba restaurant by Dotonbori River |
That's not liquor |
Seafood and soy sauce Yakisoba. It looked delicious but was just average. The noodle was much firmer than our Mee Goreng. Savoury. ¥1,058. 7/10 |
